TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

To enter Panama, U.S. Citizens require a U.S. Passport (valid for 3 months beyond intended return date), a visa or a Tourist Card, plus a round-trip airline ticket

The visa can be obtained in this Consulate, or substituted by a Tourist Card, purchased at the airline counter at the moment of departure.

While nationals from some countries, such as Switzerland, France and Great Britain do not need a visa, nor a Tourist Card, citizens from most countries do require a visa.  In many instances, those visas must be pre-authorized by Panamanian Immigration Authorities. For that reason, it is highly recommended to contact the Consulate several weeks before the projected travel date.

Citizens from countries whose visa must be pre-authorized by Panamanian Immigration Authorities, such as the Russian Federation, India and the Popular Republic of China, for example, will need to submit to the Consulate the following documents:

- Two signed application forms (please contact the Consulate)

- Two passport photos

- Passport valid for at least six months

- Proof of permanent residence, or U.S. work authorization

- Most recent bank statement showing financial solvency

- Proof of employment

- Round-trip airline ticket to Panama

- Invitation letter from Panamanian host.
